Hi there,
Had my GBR's for a good few weeks now, and still haven't a clue wether they are both male, or male and female.
I'm pretty sure one at least is male, as one seems to have a higher dorsal fin, with a flicked up bit, where as the other has a shorter one with a more uniform size.
I could be proven wrong though!!

Anyone help me out? They are still only quite young =\

Any help is much appreciated.

I cant be 100% Amy, but its quite possible they are both females. The blue fleck they have doesnt appear inside the black dot on their sides if they are male, but it seems in your pictures there are blue flecks within the black bot on both. Quite hard though as one of them isnt coloured up very well, which origionally i thought could mean they are both males with the colourful one being the dominant male OR the dull one is the male and the colourful one is female.... give them a nice feed up on bloodworm, live or frozen for a few weeks, see if the dull one colours up. The body shape is very similar too so i'm head scratching sorry :/ Give L_Plates a PM, hes got a breeding pair and others in his main tank, his eye will be better than mine. gluck!

edit: my final guess after some more head scratching....two females. :D

I think they're two females as well.

Ooh! That's really surprised me! I thought they would be male? They butt heads and are a bit aggressive to each other, is this typical of 2 females? I thought it was just males. I'll try and get some more recent pics as these are a couple of weeks ol and both of them are slightly more coloured now. Thanks for the reply though, it's nice to finally have some kind of an answer!! Lol ill update soon!
xx
