Can Any1 Help?

well there are lots of types of catfish out there, so depends on the type, but the answer with the shrimp for that is most likely no. The cat might get way to big for that tank which is why i suggested rehoming it. I dont know much about guppies but im sure somebody else is able to answer that question for you. As for the fish bags, see if a LFS(local fish store) will give you a few or sell you them for very cheap

ok thanks but defo not remove some water and transport the whole tank? even if i had people in the back holdin it?

there would be no benefit to doing that and definitely don't do it. I'd empty the gravel as well

dont i need to keep sopme water in there otherwise i will have to fill it all back up with tap water

As long as you use a water conditioner to de-chlorinate your tap water you will be fine.

Do not transport it with water.

Well your welcome!

If you bag up the fish just like they do at your LFS and transport them, they will yes, be a little stressed, just because you are putting them in a small area for a little while and moving them around. But that is how they get shipped all over the world to fish shops, so it wont be too bad.

But once you get the tank set up, added the water conditioner, brought the tank up to the desired temperature and put the fish in, it will not be long before they will be fine.

When you add the fish to the tank after it has been set up, put the bag with the fish in the tank for about a half an hour so that the water temperature in the bag will match the water temperature in the tank, and after the half an hour is up, slowly add the fish into the water. This will insure the less stressful transfer of fish between two different water sources of different temperatures.

Hope this helps a little. :good:

Any more questions just ask.

ok cheers!!!

cant wait to get it now hope i like it not sure about those gourmais and angel fish im gettin with the tank i may see if my LFS can take them off my hands.

would it be suitable for guppys if so how many would u recommend? bareing in mind they will be 1 catfish, 1 algae eater 1 plattie and 8 neon tetras also in the tank.

I would say you could get away with three guppies. If took away the angel fish that is. That tank is pretty small for an angel fish, being that they are territorial and all.

would 1 male (blue) and 2 females be ok then once i got rid of angel?

would my local LFS buy it off me? as i dunno if they accept owned fish or breed their own

I am not sure if your LFS will buy it from you, as you would have to talk to them about it, but I do not see any problem why they would not.

As for the guppies, you should be okay with 1 male and 2 females.

Rule of thumb is 3 males minimum and/or six females minimum, and any combination thereafter.

I would probably go with 3 each, and that is if you took away the angel fish and the 3 gorumais.

That last rule of thumb I told you was 3 guppies per five us gallons. So you would be okay with six in you tank with the absence of the angel and 3 gourmias.

(someone with a little more knowledge than me might read this and tell you a different stocking number for the guppies, but you should be fine with 6 for sure!)

not really the correct way to acclimate a fish. 1. you have you slowly add water to the bag(about 1/2cup every 5 minutes or so after the temp has adjusted 2. Do not add the water from the bag to the tank as it will contain ammonia heres a guide: acclimation guide This will insure the less stressful transfer of fish between two different water sources of different temperatures.
