Hey everyone, I just got back with a few glass shrimp from my LFS and I noticed that there's a little crawfish in the bag with them. He's the same size as the little glass shrimp. I was hoping to keep him over the christmas holidays so my sister could take the little guy to her dorm and I was wondering if he would be able to live with my male betta fish for a while.

That should be fine as long as he stays the same size as the glassfish. Most of those things get a lot bigger and then start eating fish. So keep an eye on the size of him - he should be alright for a few weeks, but you don't want betta sashimi.

should be fine, give the little guy somewhere to hide though!

Crayfish do not eat fish unless they are forced too. they are Detrivores/ omnivores, eating rotting veg, worms and sails and the almost anything else dead or almost dead. protein requirement for a cray is, roughly the same as a common pleco, so if properly fed they are not hunters. however, young cray in a tank with fish, often see fish as a threat. this may cause them to kill fish, to protect themselves, when they mature. as stated cray are detrivores, so having killed a fish to protect itself, they often eat the carcass. this leads to the misapprehension that the cray killed the fish for food.

o_O boboboy lol can you come explain that to mine? LOL.... No matter how much he stuffs his little face he still loves to eat everything that is in his tank. Everything. Even the fish that dont go anywhere near him. Then again, he's a hammer's blue, so I suppose it's to be expected lol...
