i posted a couple of days ago about if a jag could be in the same tank as an oscar
i did not get that many replies btw

anyway they have just layed eggs as far as i can tell the oscar is the female (i know that my jag is male any way)

 can they hatch ????

I am thinking that it is a remote chance of it happening though I have seen JDs and GTs breed so it wouldn't be a impossibility

:dunno: i wasnt trying to breed just have them in my tank i have hads flowerhorns breed with convicts, ect and the offspring were well lets just say they were euthanised :(

I would be very surprised if the eggs hatched but imo you have the right frame of mind if they do hatch get rid of them or you could just take the eggs out of the tank and soak what ever they layed the eggs on in some water and bleach

That would be a cool fish but would probly be Really aggressive

what! why wouldnt u guys want them to breed, and then have like jagoscars... that would be sweet....

whats wrong with it :(

besides the fact that there are already more than enough hybirds out there, and the world really doesn't need more, I highly doubt that the eggs would have hatched anyways.

That's a debate that has had many threads on its own, and unfortunately tends to turn into heated debates that includes insults from the less classy members. Some people are agains them because of the whole 'messing with nature' aspect. Others don't see the point because there are so many natural fish that are just as nice or nicer. I find that as people decide nature wasn't good enough, the hybrids (and dyed fish) take up more and more tanks in the lfs, making it tougher to find a decent selection of real fish. I also find that they're never as nice as the original, but I guess people like the wierd selection of color.

It isn't the end of the world, but it does impact the hobby in a very noticable way.

Like I said it's the end of the world, but I wonder what's wrong with this absolutely awsome and natural beauty that is part of the FH's origins:
