Hi, I'm new here And have just purchased a Aquael 30L (8 USA Gallons) I have seen Siamese fighting fishes everywhere, and think they look amazing.(need to cycle)

What Fish Can be kept with a Betta, if this tank is big enough?

What Catfish will be able to go in this tank? , I know plecs get way too large , Will be looking to upgrade this little tank in about a year.

Thanks (P.S) I have a tropical tank downstairs with neons, mollies,Guppies and platys.

Plenty of room for a fighter and maybe a few pygmy cories

Thanks for answering!
Good, I have never heard of pygmy cories, could you possibly send me a link to some? (do cories prefer sand or gravel?)

Trying to decide what plants to have in,

There are pro's and con's to having Tetra's with betta's. Some tetra's (silver-Tipped Tetra) can be fairly nippy, neon's and glowlights might do this to. The sad thing is that only peacful and fairly drab looking fish an live with betta's. The fish needs to be peacful, and a fish need to be drab.
I reccomend looking at the artical's in the Begginer's Resource Center- theres one on betta tankmates that is good.
I reccomend African Dwarf Frogs, you can get up to five in your tank. If you are interested, there is a artical on them in the reptile section.
Regards,
Zophie :look:

possibly harlequin rasboras but i would start with a betta and corys and see what kind of attitude your betta has. if the corys aren't a bother, then you could get 5 harleqiun rasboras

sand or very fine gravel, you have to be careful with the cory's barbels as sharp edged substrates can damage them.

there are some good shippers on ebay, also, drop chesterscot a pm, he knows someone up your way who can ship some good bred corys.
