Calling All Festivum Cichlid Owners!

could you please tell me what you think about your festivum. the pros and cons, the do's and don'ts of having one thank you in advance =)

how big do they get?

they can grow up to 7". however all cichlids have their own personalities. i had a festivum and it was really aggresive. it kept attacking my severum so i returned it. generally they're peaceful tho

I have had no problems with mine very peaceful

I used to have one with my firemouths and a blue acara. They were fine together, in fact the festivum was the least shy of them all. He didn't like an angel though, which i had to remove. I had read that they were somewhat timid and liked planted tanks for the shelter. But mine was always out cruising in the open. Except when the lights went off, he always slept suspended amongst the plants.

Festivums are best kept with middle to bottom dwelling Cichlids they will attack/kill Angels/Discus and will definitley fight with Gouramis and other surface dwelling fish.

There temperment is similar to Severum,peaceful as far as cichlid's go but still territorial and bolshy.
