Well as some of you may know I'm going to write an thread on nano tanks, but whilst doing my research and having read Georges nano tank journal I have decided to reinvent the wheel and try to find 'rule' for lighting tanks that works on lumen's per surface area rather than on WPG, as WPG can be so misleading as to be almost useless.
Here's where you guys come in, in order to work out some sort of guide I need to find out what lighting people have on their EI tanks, just EI tanks please as this is a high-light 'rule'. I would be really grateful if people could post very simple stats about their tank as shown below.
Size - Please put the dimentions
not just 20G
Lighting - please list all the light tubes you have over the tank, their make, wattage, kelvin rating if you know it and size. If anyone knows the lumen rating of the tubes that would be invaluable, and will save me having to look all of them up!
That's really about it.
If anyone has some advise/experience with this sort of light guide please let me know, I might be wasting my time here, but as George recently suggested lumen's per surface area is probably a more accurate way of assessing how much light you need for a given tank.
Thanks
Sam
