One day, when I'm feeling beligerent enough, I'm going to take some tank water out, dose it to 1ppm ammonia, and take it round to some of my LFSs. I'll ask them if my water is suitable to have more fish in it yet. Just to see what they say - will they put profit before welfare?

i always wondered if people have ever taken back a fish that died, to get a refund, and for a water sample to prove it wasnt ur fault, just used RO water or purified water or something like that. but i bet people who are killing fish dont know enough about it to get pure water for the refund.

If your going to do the above, it might be worth getting a group of voluntees together to test a big range of shops across a region or right across the UK. I have four withing a few miles of me, including 2 MA stores and a P@H, so i think with enough people, we could get some intersting results.

I've got 2 x MAs, 3 x P@Hs and a fair few indies. Just got to find a weekend when I'm not way too busy (I have two kids at footy, and I coach the eldest's team).
