I guess like the title asked, does calcium affect plants in an aquarium? We are planning on setting up a 10g tank and have been told that the calcium in the water will not bother the fish (all parameters are fine), but are curious to know if we would be able to have live plants in there as well.

Thoughts? Thanks!

i asume you mean hardness. as in the quantity of calcium carbonates in the water.

if so NO. some plants prefer soft, some prefer hard water. the majority will be fine in both.
