Calcium In The Panted Tank?

does anyone here use crushed coral in their tank to supplement calcium in their tanks? lately i think i have had a deficiency .. holes appearing in my plants .. almost no growth despite good ferts and trace.

i hadded some crushed coral to my filter and my plants are now pearling (about 4 hours later)

Some add Ca, especially with v. soft water. Most add it via calcium sulphate or calcium chloride rather than crushed coral.

It has been suggested that the ratio of magnesium and calcium is important, so dosing known qtys. via dry chemicals may be preferable to crushed coral.
