Hello, how can we know when the active carbon of the filter is caduced after of to be used? thanks, regards.

There's no way of telling if the carbon is full and no longer doing anything.

Most people simply replace it every month, or don't bother using it at all.

You only need carbon if you have heavy metals or chemicals in the water, and if you do, then you should replace the carbon every week. use an "activated carbon" or highly activated carbon". However, if you don't have chemicals or heavy metals in the water, there is no point using it.

I do not use the carbon filters, I have a box with at least 10 of them still in the plastic. The only time I would use them is after I medicated the tank. They are pretty much a waste of money unless like Colon_T said you have chemicals or metals in your water. Buy some live plants they will do more for your water quality.

Colin_T and Retired Viking, many thanks for your answers, i have lern a lot from your answers. Before i do believed that the activated carbón was neccessary for every tank, but now i know that not. Thank you. Regards.
