Hi,ive now got a good few plant and ive got a thread going about BBA in my tank ianhohas been helping so far and looking at it being C02 fluctuation
anyway i want to be able to keep my plant looking good and not have to replace them every 6 month when they die off

so please help me try and get in to C02 or am i barking up the wrong tree

ive seem this:

TMC AquaGro Co2 Hobby Set

TMC AquaGro Co2 Expert Set

there from about 40 to 70 pounds

i have a juwel rio 180

or maybe recommend one for me

many thanks

i wouldnt use either on a 180, you will rip through thoose cartridges and they are not cheap.

DIY route mate on a tank that size, I have a 180 too. I used paintball tanks at first (same size as the tmc bottles) they last 2 weeks max and they are 700g/20oz.

now use a Fire Extinguisher, Little bottles from those kits will not be cost effective at all.

ok is there any guides on here to how to do this
can you help me with what i need

cheers

Have a look at the last post on this thread, gives you links to everything you will need.

DIY CO2

Obviously you can buy the bits from different places and save a few quid but I bought a lot from 1 place so that I only had to pay 1 lot of postage. However I have since replaced the buble counter with a basic plastic one and also the one way valve :good:

Thanks, this is a option and probably the best one
I was hoping though that I could pop to a shop and just get a kit

Is there any kits with a bigger bottle that may last

Cheers

There are JBL ProFlora kits that use a larger bottle, but then you are looking at spending upwards of £200!! you could ask your LFS if they sell Co2 kits but honestly your best bet is to buy all the bits separately.

Cheers the first post was not far from 200, I will check the one you posted
But I'm not a fan of buying from the net and waiting weeks

I wanted a faster setup time, guess i need to be more patient

Cheers

Well all the required bits detailed on the last post in that thread came to around £118, and you can shave a few quid off that prices by buying a plastic buble counter and check valve.

The postage should only be a couple of days, and the regulator and soleanoid was puirchased from Germany and arrived at my doorstep 3 days (yes 3 days) after I ordered it :good:

What ever set up you go for will be good for your plants so good luck :)

ok i will fully price it up when im home from work im doing 5pm till 12am

found this as well http://www.swallowaquatics.co.uk/88893/products/JBL_Complete_CO2_Kit.aspx?utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=PriceComp&utm_term=Froogle&utm_content=None&utm_campaign=PriceComp1

The good news is that it will only be expensive once. Refilling co2 tanks is cheap and they last a long time. All the parts on their own aren't a killer either if you ever have to replace anything :good:
