The big one in the center is one of my wild-caught Lamprologus multifasciatus (male).

I bought a Madagascar Lace plant bulb about 5 weeks ago and the leaves are starting to "lace",

Thanks for looking.

Those multies in particular look great! I've got some and they have much fewer bars than yours, on the males they'll have only 5 or 6 dark sections, why do you think that might be?

Great photos!

lovely fishies but i'm more jealous of the lace plant. i've been looking for those for ages over here. the only ones i've found in the LFS have been covered in algae. yours looks so green and vibrant. be sure to post a pic when it's fully developed.

Wondering where you had been. absolutely gorgeous fish and lovely looking plant and tank is making me

!!!- especially for you

Thanks for the nice comments, everyone. :)

Fella - How old are yours and how long have you had them? What's your M/F ratio? I bought mine back in Feb, and they were still juvies. As you can see from these pics, they weren't as colorful as they are now. Also, what are you feeding them? I feed mine Hikari frozen bloodworm and O.S.I. cichlid flake the most. I also give them Omega One veggie flakes (it still contains plenty of fish) and Hikari tropical flakes.

jimbooo - That leaf might be the best of the lot. It was only $3.59 for the bulb. It sprouted in 3 days. I doubt the plant will do too well though, I don't have proper substrate. I have Tahitian moon black sand. I do use Seachem root tabs, but I'm not sure how much they really help. I'll try to get a pic of the whole plant in the next couple of days.

aloaring - thanks for the !!! :hyper: I've been busy with work, my dog (he's not keen on me being on the computer when I get home from work. ), and my tanks. I'll try to post some full tank shots.

Barracuda518 - I have 4. I bought 5, and lost 1. I should have bought more to begin with. I haven't seen them since. They get along great with my Pygmy corys, though.

Ours are all different ages I think. We bought 3, but had a hitchiker, a second male to make a 2m 2f ratio. We've had te tank running since early september, and it's not been without a hitch! A month ago after reading how bulldog plecs were successful tankmates, I added one to our multitank and sadly he didn't last a day. Then recently, the Alpha male of the tank just died out of the blue. He's the biggest multi I've seen, and I'm guessing it was just old age as he was looking great before hand.

Here's a photo of him a week before he died -

He did however in his legacy leave a young fry (his first and last of the tank) who is currently coming on really well and growing fast.

For feeding them I have a microworm culture (Bought from BigC on here) which supplies them with something to chase and are small enough to feed the fry, plus I also feed them bloodworm and flake. I've tried them on other foods like prawn with limited success.

Do you raise many fry?

I do raise a good number of fry. I just asked one of the owners of my favorite LFS if they give store credit for tank-bred fish and he said "not usually". After I told him they were Multies, he immediately said he would give me store credit for them. Tomorrow I'm going to bag 8-10 of my biggest and bring them in. He said they would give me "about $9.00 each". I'm quite pleased. :D

Were you able to get those at a local fish store or did you order them online somewhere? I cant find any at stores around here.

EDIT: Grammer

I got them at a LFS. If I were to order by mail, I've heard good things about Better Bettas.
