Hi Guys,

I knew that it was going to happen, my beloved black angelfish had passed away this morning when I got up. :-( He has been ill for about a month, mostly lying on his side, barely eating coming to the end. It was really horrible and I couldn't bring my self to kill him, so he just went when it was his time, and I just hope that he didn't suffer too much.
Anyway the reason for my post in this section is that I thought I would put a few pics up of his life, unfortunately the pictures are not very good, being black it was difficult to get the camera to focus. But here goes. It also shows how quickly angelfish grow.

These first two pics were before I had a digital camera, and were taken with a video camera, hence the quality :S

(You can just about see him down the bottom right hand corner)

As you can see he was quite tiny when I got him, this was nearly 3 years ago, his body wasn't much bigger than a 50pence piece.
These two pics were taken 12 months ago, and unfortunately, I couldn't find any others that showed him more recently, because he had grown quite a bit more in that year, so I've included a pic of his buddy, 'The White Angel' who is now looking a little lonely, but I'm sure will get over it.

So there you have it, the 3 years of black angel. He will be missed.

Thanks for looking.

Steph

What stunning fish they are. I'm really sorry you lost him that must have been so hard for you (hugs). :-(

Sorry for your loss. :(

He had 3 years with an owner who loved and cared for him. ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind words. :*)

It's hard to tell 'people' that a fish has died and expect any sympathy, but that's why this forum is great becuase its full of like-minded people who know what it's like. He was like any other pet, I had a hamster that didn't live as long as that, and yet I don't think people realise that fish can live years.

Anyway thanks.

sry for your loss he looked a really nice fish! :/

Yah, I know the feeling. I have a pair of marble angels and it's fun to watch how visitors drop their jaws when I tell them I've had the angels for 8 years. ;)

So sorry about your loss. He was a very beautiful fish.

Thanks again everyone. I did actually find a more recent picture of him but it was when he was ill and lying on his side. It was quite sad. I buried him in the garden and felt a lot better after that, I just hope that none of the cats dig him up for a nice meal.

He was beautiful. I am sorry for you loss. I hate when my favorite fish die. It makes me want to sometimes give up the hobby because they are nothing you can do sometimes but watch..
