I've never bought plants/fish etc online before, wanting to get hold of some java moss stuck a search in on google and got so many sites back I just got a little confused by it all. Can someone recommend a good reliable site I can use or anything I should look out for. Thanks :)

try ebay and you can check the seller's feedback profile for confidence...
some ebay sellers also have an online site...

cool thanks. I'll do that :)

also how much should you expect to pay?

Quite tricky this one as a lot of online retailers tend to send the wrong type of moss, called sphagnum moss which wont grow.

Greenline are normally quite good with moss. I only ever order mine from Birstall Garden Centre though as this is direct from Tropica and you can be sure it will be the real stuff.

Alternatively pm me and I'll send you a handful of it from my tank I've a bit spare...

thanks for all the advice and offers :D

i assume they ship worldwide...at a reasonable cost?

just thought i'd have a look at shipping costs for the UK, you put something in your basket then change where you are to recalculate the shipping costs, when i change it to UK it defaults it back to US. Don't think that's a v good one for international orders, sure it'd be easier and cheaper to find somewhere in the UK. Thanks anyway though :)

and as it will no doubt be me doing it whats the best way to propigate the java moss so i have enough, and how does one create a "carpet" effect with it?

off topic, but oi, just rang u twice on both phones, no answer :<

I just bought java moss for ten bucks (before shipping) from www.bettatalk.com. It was a huuuge clump of java moss. The only problem is you have to order a minimum of thirty bucks of stuff so the only way you can get them is order a lot of java moss or the site also sells java fern. What I did was buy 2 orders of java fern (three plants each order) and one clump java moss. It cost me $36 total shipping included and I got six java ferns and a lot of java moss. This is in the US... I dont think the site ships elsewhere.
