First of all: I am in no way affiliated with this company and merely writing about my personal experience to share with fellow fishkeepers.

Well I've come across their name a few times, but am always wary of online sellers.
Most importantly the extra stress the fish goes through shipping and risks (for the fish) involved.
The company also offer a "arrive alive" & 7 day guarantee which seems extremely generous.
Not that I care as much about the money as the fish that stay alive - but that shows me that they have a certain level of confidence in the quality of the stock they send and their shipping methods. They also have a very good online guide on acclimatisation.

I've been looking for some Queen Arabesque (L260) for a long time and neither of my 2 lfs have stocked them in the past couple of years (that I know of). When these came up on eBay through Tropicalfish4u.com I decided to take the plunge.

1) The price was exceptionally good for them
2) TigerIssey posted here in the catfish forum that she bought 1 and posted pics. That definitely convinced me to try them.

Originally I wanted 3, but unfortunately they currently only had two left - expecting some new stock soon.
So I decided to take the 2 and see how it goes - and permitting all go well, might get some more in the following weeks / months.

So, suffice to say I'm really happy with the level of service.
They promptly answered questions pre-sale
The absolutely huge package arrive just after 8am this morning
The fish were very well packaged - doubled bagged in very strong bags with strong metal tie clips - all in another massive strong plastic bag. Heatpacks also included.
They have now settled in and look absolutely fantastic (or what I can see of them in the dark !)
I can't take any photos yet, but suffice to say they look exactly as beautiful as the one of TigerIssey :good:

Just thought I'd share my positive experience. Shipping isn't cheap, but worth it and warranted and entirely sensible. For those who can't obtain certain fish from their lfs, this is certainly an option.

I will report back how they are doing in a week's time :good: .

I'm glad you posted because i need a place to buy fish when my lfs can't get there hands on a certian fish. Can't wait to see pics of your L260s.

Bloo, now I know why you wanted to see the pics so much!!

Hope to see some great pics soon, I have to say I did acclimatise Queenie for longer than they said, I felt the water difference from bag to tank was quite different. Then I kept adding water for another 3/4 hour or so.

Hope your turn out as good as mine.

Congrats

Glad to see they finally labelled a plec right!

Sorry, in all seriousness - I've been put off by their constant and repeated mislabelling of plecs to be honest. I'm glad to have read this as it may factor in future decisions. It'd be nice if they'd look into getting their information correct though for first time buyers.

I don't believe it was their error (as in Tropicalfish4u.com) - one can clearly see you only bought one item (or this link for those not logged into eBay). When paying by paypal, it shows the total amount you're paying. Did you not see that you're commiting to paying £90 + ? If indeed you didn't (and it just showed the price of your fish £22.73 + £14.50 shipping = £37.23), it was a technical error which has nothing to do with the seller.
Good to hear though that you are getting your money back - as you no less should :good:

Nope - I actually bought mine through eBay. I wanted to leave feedback - which I am still to do and will do after the first week.

They ar looking gorgeous though and doing well :good:

Not at all as far as I know. But I feel like I'm contributing to other fishbuyers by being able to leave feedback :good:

at their website, they got a promo of free delivery for orders of £50 or more. and only £10 under this.
£14.50 delivery if you buy thru ebay.

Hey Bloo, is there a difference at all, between buying from them through ebay and buying from the website?
