Hi all,

Recently I've been looking at butterfly fish for my reef tank, mainly:

Chaetodon falcula - "Saddleback butterflyfish"

Forcipiger longirostris - "Longnose butterflyfish"

I just wonder how suitable they are for a reef? I've been reading that the longnose is the safer option of the two as their mouth shape means it will pick at/in the rockwork for smaller animals/worms etc.

My LFS says as long as they feed well (and I feed fairly heavy/varied) they are reasonably safe, and says that if I get any from him that do nip he'll loan me a trap and take back etc.

I could also make some egg crate cages to cover the corals for a short term to stop any damage?

Thoughts please :)

That's what I'm afraid of :(

I dont really want a FOWLR but seem drawn to all the risky fish  more research required I suppose!
