You put a CT in with how many Plakats and where the PK's male or female?
You do know PK's will shread the male CT if they feel like it. PK's are far far stronger and aggresive than the watered down thin bread fancy Bettas.

Good luck, but i think i would have got a large plastic tub and floated that in the tank with the CT rather than put him in the tank with the PK's.

I thought she said she moved the plakat to a twenty gallon. She didn't say what was in the 20 usg.

Is that thin white bread?

But really the floating was a good idea. Myself for emergencies, I used to pull out the big 2.5 qt vases and the 2 qt display whatayacallems )edit: beanie baby cases.) (But I have extra critter keepers now.)

By the way, how are they?

um, yes. I am fully aware of all that.

I said "plakat's", meaning posessive, not plural. ONE plakat, male, who was moved to the 20 gallon specifically because the 20 has nippy fish and the CT would be picked whereas the PK is less likely to be nipped, and if he were, could stand up for himself. not to mention the filter, which foiled him a bit and I can't imagine how rough it would be for the CT who is a sulky little bugger.

My PK is a fancy fish. Short fins don't necessarily make a fish any more or less "watered down thin bred", though i think synirr might be a little offended if I called her fish that, at least in comparison to a petshop CT.

I thought about floating the PK but had nothing that would really do for that. Regardless, everybody is fine and has been restored to normalcy. Got a new tank for him and all is well.

next time please read a little closer. Misreading may have made you react immediately and negatively but if you had paid more attention you would have seen what i wrote. It pays to not respond until you are feeling rather less emotional about the topic.

I'm glad they are fine, starry.

Well you are both over me, although I do have hospital hang ons, I just haven't thought in terms of floating containers. :S Thanks for adding to my toolbox. :)

What kind of new home did someone get?

Haha Synirr is sending me some thin white bread! w/heat packs!

 I dont have spare containers I keep filling them with bettas!

mm, toast! you should switch to wheat, jollysue. it's much healthier for you

i've floated fish before, but not in containers like plastic. Usually if I float a fish in a bigger tank i'll put it in a styrofoam cup with holes punched through it so that the water can move through. Fish create more waste when under stress (IME) so by putting holes in it it cuts back on build-up a lot. you have to attach the cups to the side of the tank, though, cuz they'll float and tip over otherwise

anyhow, he's only in a 2.5. When I have some room i'm going to give him more because he's really quite active, but for now a 2.5 has to do. the fish in the 20 are to colorful, pestering, and in some cases, aggressive for a betta to live with long term, not to mention the poor tank's already over stocked.

You're right lets bread the CTs with wheat toast.

Please don't anyone be offended: I am starting a two week vacation, and my brain is like a bucket of mud right now. I just heard that one: "my brain is like a bucket of mud." I can't use it enough!

I have extra tanks, liz, just no place left to put them.
