pretty cool

but i dont think they will make it since they have so many tankmates.

is that the eggs on the top. amazing. i was wondering if i could get bumble bee gobies with my green spotted puffer iv been told you can but im not sure.
if i were you i would keep a close eye on the nest. but besides the male will probably chase any fish that is a threat to the nest.
hope this helps

I wouldn't keep a Green Spotted Puffer with Bumblebee Gobies for a couple of reasons:

GSPs need a higher salinity then BBGs
GSPs are aggressive eaters and will out-compete the BBGs for food
GSPs may look at BBGs and see dinner

If you want to match puffers and Bees, then go with Figure 8s

F8 puffers like similar water conditions
They both do well with a max SG of about 1.005
They seem to get along with minimal problems as far as aggression.

wow this is fantastic. My BBGs bred once too but it didn't work out. Neale Monks provided me with this really good webpage which you should find useful.

this should really help. I think i'm right in saying that on the 6th day you should remove the eggs from the nest as they almost always hatch on the 7th evening. Here's another great webpage:

As long as you remove the nest today or tomorrow you should be fine, hopefully the male would have guarded the nest up til now.

Good luck!

have the babies survived yet and also can you tell the difference between male and female. when yours were breeding
did you notice anything distingtive about the 2. i have 6 so the must be a male and a female
please reply
thanks

None of the babies survived but I was expecting that. I have figure eights, a violet goby and a glassfish in the tank. Without moving them to a breeding tank it wasnt they would see adulthood.

if they breed again, i may isolate them and raise them. We'll see.

noooo lol i was asking can you tell the difference between male and female BBG's so when i
go the petshop i can pic males and females out.
what were they behaving like when they started breeding.
thanks

No, its pretty much impossible to sex them at the shop. Females tend to be plumper but really you cant tell. only when they breed and the males lose their colors can you tell.

i went on one of the links above that someone kindly posted and it states that you shoud
empty 50% of the water and fill it up again but lower the temprature to 18 degrees
and do not add any more salt to mimic the rainy season.
what did you do and what type of water do you have in your tank brackish or fresh.
thanks
