Hi,
I bought 3x balloon molly's today and since I introduced them into the tank, the male swordtail has gone crazy.
He appears to be 'nipping' and chasing ALL the other fish. He's hassling all of the fish (even the older tankmates) but more so the molly's. He isn't leaving alone the male and 1 of the females keeps hiding under a rock hide. The only time the molly comes out is when it's coaxed out by the bullying ST, then he chases her around until she evades him long enough to hide again under the rock. This has gone on for the last hour.
Will things settle down?
I'm tempted to fish him out and leave him in a bag for an hour (the ones that the fish are purchased in from the LFS).
He's probably only asserting his dominance as he is the largest fish in there. But I thought my selection was all community.
Do I need a BIGGER fish to sort him out?
