As my signiture shows, I have two pleco's. One, a common, about 11 or twelve inches long. The other, a sailfin. About two inches shorter. Everytime I feed them, the common always pushes the sail out the way. Not just out of the way but right around the tank. My sail has now got a small tear in its dorsal fin and a few on it's tail. The common has no sign of damage at all.
I may be forced to remove the common and have it rehomed.
Bit of a bummer but life isn't alway's a box of chocolat's...
Anyone in the Middlesbrough area interested? I'd like a good home for it.

Yeah thats the problem with gibbys and common plecos, although they are generally peaceful community fish by nature, they don't like each other when they grow up. I had the same problem with my common and sailfin plecos when i used to keep them all in the same tank together, in the end the only way i could stop the harrassment between the plecos was to set them up their each own individual tank.

You might be able to stop them fighting if you divide the tank roughly into two sections with a wall of decor in the middle, so the plecos can each have their own half of the tank and so don't have to see each other all the time, feeding them individually at opposite ends of the tank will also help too  .
