hello - yes I give them the tetra pro colour food, that is red that would explain it - oops!

I don't know what the guppy could have knocked his scales on, I have a piece of mature bog wood & plants in the tank
but maybe the filter inlet or powerhead - I did all my water stats today (0 ammonia, nitrite and nitrate)

ph 8.2 - that is quite alkaline though? (the substrate is eco-complete, no shells I can see, we do live in a hard water area though)

p.s the other guppy died last night that's all 3 of the fancy guppies, the other fish are ok but the illness seems to strike quickly

the dead one, all his tail fin had been eaten too! maybe the infection gets a hold if they are stressed

oh dear, I think this is more of a fish disease than a fish behaviour thread now

If it is fish tb you really need to wipe the beneifical bacteria out with antibiotics.
The only way to know is to have test done on a dead fish,

Get you some info for treatment if it turns out to be fish tb.

Thanks Wilder - bit worried fish tb can spread to humans!!!! is that the skin, not the lungs?!
I buried the fish today

It's rare to catch fish tb. You have to be exposed to it a long time.
if you have a weak immune system.
Gain entry throw cuts and wounds.

As a precaution wear latex gloves when you have to put your hands in the tank.

ok, thanks for the reassurance - feel much better now, just hope its not TB - should I see if any more die or should I just treat the tank as a precaution?

You need antibiotics if it is tb.
Also add viatamin b to there food.

Don't add any new fish for a least 3 months or even longer.
