Hi

After a recent home move (where all my fish survived the bagging process) I've noticed the last week or so that my female sunset platy has started to hide under my filter (I have two running).

I then saw that every now and then two other females were giving her a hard time.  Chasing her and not letting her have much peace.

Today I noticed a kind of tear near her anus (white 'cotton' in apperance is the closet I can describe it).

She has also lost a lot of colouring and I've set up a QT for her which I have moved her to just now (she's still in the bag).

I am about to do an API test but do you have any intial thoughts on what might be up with her ?

My tank is 110 litres - Juwel - and I have the old tank's filter running as well as the new filter.

Currently in the tank are 10 WMC Minnows, 4 adult female platys, 4 red wag 3 month olds, two recently added males also around 3 month's old and a 2 growing fry...maybe 4 weeks old and a few tiny ones that hide well maybe a week or so old.

Speaking to two different LFS they say I am not over-stocked currently.

Thanks for reading.

She passed away.  Found her this morning.  Think the initial move stressed her as well as the bullying.

I wondered if maybe she was sick and the other platies sensed she was weak so that's why they were bullying her.

Sorry for your loss.

Thanks, Daize.

Yeah, I think you have a point.

I spotted at a few chain stores - Pets at home etc. - that the weaker fish REALLY get picked on, even once I saw a platy get buliied to a point where it fell to the gravel within 5 minutes of being there where I told the member of staff, but they got called to look at something else !  I nearly just bagged the platy myself.

The other platies and WMC Minnows in my tank seem to be fine.  I'm a bit concerned, though, that two of my red wag fry that are growing up are now male and it's there's potential for it to 'kick-off' in the tank !!
