Bulldog Plec

I have 1 bulldog plec living happy in my juwel vision 180 tank however when I buy him a mate the new bulldog is always dead the next day. The bloke at the pet shop told me my old bulldog is killing the new bulldog through the night. Does this sound right? If it is why is he doing this.

have you got a test kit? it could simply be a case of "old tank syndrome" (not a good thing!!!)

how big is the tank?

Plecos once they get bigger are territorial. I have a very aggressive pleco and he would kill every other pleco I put in.

If you introduced another pleco in there when he was a baby it would have probably worked out but he claimed that tank.
