bulging spot on my betta

Hi all,
About two or three weeks ago I noticed a bulging spot on the side of my female betta. She acted fine until today, she starting having closed fins and not so active. The growth or whatever is inside seems to have gotten bigger. I've been doing water changes regularly and have salt in the water. Does anyone know what this is and if it's treatable? I'm kind of thinking it's not very treatable but thought I'd give it a shot. She's going on 3 years old. For right now I'm going to try raising water temperature and see if she improves or not. Any suggestions?

Hi,
Me again, just thought I'd update what's happening..today I noticed a few places where it looks like a layer of skin (I know it's not really skin) is flaking off her. She doesn't look good but still active. Anyone know what's going on with her?

that is old for a betta, I wish I knew what to tell you but every betta I have ever owned has got drospy and died if I were you I would put her on some maracyn 2 mabey or something like that to see if it helps but it sounds to me like old age is taking over. I wish I could help you out more, but I dont know what to say in this matter . I hope she gets better for you.

You could CARFULLY try taking a razor and scrapiing it of i dont know if this is the right thing to use the razor, i would double check this and if you really want to save it do it but if you dont get a second opion dont do it, im not SURE. Good luck

Is the bulging spot from her belly so both sides of her belly swelled up? And is her scales sticking up when u said she has a second skin?
