Building Custom Tank Stand

long story short i moved to denver, co and my fiance is back with my fishtank. we decided to move from a 55 to a 75 gallon tank and i wanted to create my own custom stand. has anyone drew up plans for a tank stand that they want to share with me? my measurements on the tank will be 48 inches long by 24 inches wide. my goal is to start this project in january, get the tank running by feb, cycled by march and then i will be shipping the fish i am not giving away. Any help would be appreciated.

my initial thought was to build a shell with 2x4's and then build around that as it would be more stable and able to withstand more weight. thoughts?

Properly designed, you can use less than 2x4 lumber. I do like the overkill safety aspect of using 2x4's for stands, and personally opt for using them. My racks are built from 2x4's as well as a stand I built some time ago for a 65 gallon. That tank has a 36"x18" footprint, and as you stated, 2x4 frame skinned with finished one side plywood.

While I don't have drawings or pictures of the work in progress, the stand has a box of 2x4's top & bottom, with 6 legs, 3 in front, 3 in back. Yea, without a doubt overkill, I could park my truck on it, but it was originally built to be in my carpeted living room upstairs.
