Build Up On Filter

Hello,

I have noticed a small growth build up on my hob filter. It is wear the water is dispensed out. Is this suppose to be good bacteria, or should i clean it off? Thanks

I don't think its either benificial or harmful. It is probibly something feeding on the nitrate as it passes out of the filter, back into the water. I'd personaly leave it unless it poses a threat to the filters operation.

I leave it on mine until I clean the filter. Even then I leave some. I clean just enough to make it look nice on top.
