When you set a tank up you get bubbles on filter and heater etc, how long should i expect them to dissapear?
I set tank up yesterday early evening (finished by 5:30pm), im thinking about putting fish in on mon or tues.

TANK IS FULLY CYCLED - CAME WITH MATURE MEDIA. Sorry bout caps but i want people to know that the tank is cycled and not "get" at me.

The gasses in new water will come out and stick to everything in the tank. When I see that, I just stir the water a bit to dislodge the bubbles and seldom see any more. The gas exchange on the tank will eventually remove them but why wait, they are just bubbles of the gasses that started out in the water so there is nothing special about them. If you dechlorinated your water and get the filter and heater functioning on the tank, the fish won't care about the bubbles anyway. The bubbles just look funny in a tank.

Are you adding an ammonia source to keep the bacteria fed until you add the fish?

Agree the bubbles will soon subside or you can disturb them yourself

I have the odd tiny fry in atm, was just wondering about bubbles, the fry seem to enjoy flicking the bubbles then chasing them to the surface lol

Ok, Just make sure that when you add your adult fish that you keep an eye on your water stats as a little bit of bacteria may die off from now until monday as the fry wont be creating much ammonia. :good:
