I am a extreme noob and I strted my tank last night and my bubbler thing has like 1 or two very very small bubbles comign from both sides, What happen to huge contious bubbles? Is it normal that it stopped?

Check the hose for any kinks or leaks (dip as much of the hose in water as you can. Any leaks will give off bubbles). If there are none, take the airstone off for a second and see if you get a healthy stream of bubbles just from the hose.

If you're getting bubbles from the hose and not the stone, its possible the air stone is clogged or damaged. If you're getting a weak stream from the hose, as well, the pump may have burned out or there's a clog somewhere else.

Another possibility is that you have an adjustable air pump fox. I use the Rena product line and they have a knob near the air line that will change how much air you get depending on which way you turn the knob. If that is the type you have, try a turn in one direction or the other and see what happens. It will only take a few seconds to change the bubbles in the tank so you can quickly adjust it the way that you like it. Another less obvious reason that some people don't get air is that the air hose gets pinched between the tank and the lid. It won't seem to affect things at first but with time the hose will slowly get pinched closed.

I had this problem when i first started the reason was that my actual pump was not powerful enough to pump air through the tubing.

OR......

another reason could be that inside the pump there is a rubber cushion that gets filled with air before pumping the air out, this could be ripped or have a hole in it, I've had this happen also. You should be able to unscrew the pump to see if its ripped/popped.

hope i helped. :good:

The tube providing the air was constricted, after some tampering its better than before.

Is this also known as the venturi tube?

I have a filter system at the back of my tank and the pump has one of these tubes attached to it. I was told the tube either got blocked (although I can't see how anything could have got past the three stage filtration system as there's two layers of sponge to get past), or the venturi had dropped into the water.

I can't see how it could have done that either but it only happened after a water change when the pump was left on. The water level went below the pump outlets. Maybe this was the cause?

I can still feel water being pumped out as the fish swim towards the outlet and then let the water flow push them backwards right across the back of the tank.

I can also feel the pressure with my hand too.
