On the surface of my tank I have one inch by one inch circle of bubbles floating in the centre of the tank and they are not dispersing. Last night I broke them apart and thought they were gone but hey they are back this evening. My water is crystal clear and I did a 15% water change over the weekend (I do them every weekend). Should I be worried about this or is it nothing?

either your fish are blowing bubbles (which is what happens when they are ready to lay eggs in them.

look at the bubbles side on, if they have a rainbow effect on them then your waters bad and you need to do a large water change mate.

whats your water stats

bubbles like this indicate bad water and needs to be addressed
now if your fish are not expecting.

just looks like suface froth to me though matey . your spray bar or somthing may be just causing them also :good:

Well this is on a fry tank. The water stats come back fine however...... Maybe it is the spray bar as you say? I'm puzzled.

nothing to worry about then mate i guess. lol very strange though indeed.
its possibly what standby setting said matey :good:

So should I perhaps feed a little less and see if they disappear? I have been using NLS Grow to feed the fry which is high in protein and feeding twice a day. Todays water tests are fine again 0 ammonia 0 Nitrite and finally 40ppm Nitrate.

Saulosi fry, have 18 in the tank and they seem to be doing fine. Have coloured up nicely since I've had them. Have a healthy appetite and are very lively.

congratulations mate

Still worried now though. If it's the same at the weekend I will do a larger 50% water change I think.

Try adjusting the spray to a slightly different position.
If the bubbles are gathering in the same place then it could the fact that the flow of the water is such that it is coming back towards the output.

You will sometimes see a few bubbles like that if you are using a high protein flake food due to the fats that such foods contain. It is not a problem at all.
