Today when I was adding ammonia I noticed that there are a ton of bubbles on the surface of my water. Is this okay? I THINK its from the air stone Im using but wanted to make sure.

Can be a sign of low oxygen. Change some water and increase circulation and areation.

Do the individual bubbles persist and appear to stick together? Is it a scum? Does it have any soap feel? Probably its just your airstone bubbles but since you asked, it makes one wonder if you might have one of those bottles of ammonia that has something else in it that you don't want, like surfactants.

it could be the ammonia you are using. if it has a surfactant (soap) in it that will cause bubbles. It can also be caused by protiens on the surface.
Just do as lil guppy suggested and do a water change.

Which ammonia are you using, Lioness?

great value brand (walmart brand) clear ammonia. But since I posted this I found out it was the airstone causing the multitude of bubbles. I unhooked the airstone to use the air pump for my sponge filter ...bubbles are all gone now.
