It can depend. Some of my boys never make bubblenests, some do.

the water is clean, i got everyhting in i got the comer filter, heater, hurricane latern, plants. and the female is in and the water is 80 oF... its been 5 hours now and there not a single bubble... oh yea i didnt have a Styrofoam cup so i took a styrofoam boal and cut it in half

Oh, I didn't know you were breeding them.. It normally takes way over 4 hours from what I've read. Is the female in a glass chimney or something similar?

yes i got her in a hurrican latern, so it'll take longer.... does the it matter where everything is ?? i got the plants on the left the heater in the middle the female kinda right and the half cup in the right corner and the filter across in the right corner... and does the fishys need light ... lol sorry if its a dumb question

Hi. Is the corner filter on? If so, that'll likely be disrupting the surface enough to break up any bubbles. If you have it on, turn it off until spawning's done and fry are a day or so old (and even then just have it on a bubble every second or so).

What temp is your tank setup at? Have you read the pinned thread on breeding? It can be a big help for your first few spawns.

they're crown tails, the male is bluish green and the female is a yellowish gold... but there are no bubbles at all and i thinks its the 5th hour... the filter wasnt on...

i let the female swim in the tank and the male chased it and then i put the female bak i the latern and i think the male is making bubbles ionno he mad a couple but it like poped but its closer then earlier...

Have these fish even been conditioned?

I hope those aren't just pet store CTs of unknown ages and breeding. If they are, you're in for some trouble, as most pet store males are past their prime, which dramatically increases the chance of defective offspring... I also hope you read the pinned info, know who you'll be selling the babies to, have a spawn tank, and are fully prepared for breeding. Honestly, the other day you were asking if you could throw two females together, and today you are wondering how long bubblenesting takes, which makes me think you don't know much about bettas. It would be best to first perfect basic betta care before plunging into breeding, which takes an immense amount of time, money, space, and effort... and when done incorrectly, will result in some very dead fish.
