Years and years ago I had a lovely comunity tank with guppis, mollies etc.. and a betta and they all worked really well together. I have once again set up a comunity tank and bought some guppies and my beautiful blue and red betta with his stunning girlfriend. Unfortinately 'sonic' my male betta didn't like the guppies so untill I decide what to do about it I have put him into one of those floating breading traps. This was on tuesday. When I get up this morning I noticed that he had started making a bubble nest in there  What do I do? Do I put his girlfriend in there with him or will he just hurt her??

he will definately hurt her...makes and females should not be keptr together...go get a small tank (3 gal minimum) with a heater and filter for the boy...he'll be much happier on his own!

Check out my Avatar :good: Males and females should NEVER be kept together unless breeding under strict conditions. And you cant breed them in a community tank in a hanging trap.

I suggest you get the books out and/or research on the internet.

This is very good advice i really suggest you do it

Thank you all for your advice. I don't really want to start breading them because knowing me I go completely crazy and end up with a house full of tanks!!! When I woke up this orning he had jumped out of his little tank and back into the community tank but so far he is being very quiet and keeping himself to himself  If he starts bullying again though I may have to find a new home for him or her  If I got rid of her would he calm down???? -_- :hyper: or do I have to accept that it just wasn't ment to be and say good bye to him???? :-(

its not just getting rid of her, it's the guppys that will cause problems aswell, their tails look like a betta's and that is why you are having fighting problems, you need to sort it out soon or you will either end up with dead guppys, a dead betta or both.
