Bruised fish, CRAP CRAP CRAP

i was doing work on my internal filter when the suction cups detatched from the back and fell, i thought it was no big deal but when i lifted it up my jewel cichlid father was under it, and severe bruising on the back of him, hes swimming slowly and falls on his side occasionaly,
what can i do to help him and is the bruising going to clear up?

one of my own fish got whacked by something falling in the tank and was staggering around for most of the day. suppose you could call it concussion and the bruising should heal on its own over a few days. just keep an eye on him and slowly he should get better, but if he gets picked on then maybe move him to a quiet tank where he can recover. good luck.

i put him in a clean safe tank(the one with his fry actually) and devided it just to be safe, and added soe java moss to his side for some shade/hiding...but hes looking better already!
imgoing to keep him in there for 2 or so more days and add some salt and them put him back in the main tank if he is fit enough
