I was doing my weekly water change yesterday when I found a bit if slimy gunk about the size of a butter bean on one of my floating plants.
The ammonia and nitrite are 0 nitrate about 10.
could it be snail eggs as I have a few in the tank just now

Just stick it under your Zeiss Microscope and check for individual eggs. ;)

Yes, it could easily be snail eggs. You should be able to distinguish that from a bacterial biofilm by the egg bunch being thicker and more jelly-like, whereas a biofilm will be thinner and more grey, usually.

~~waterdrop~~

It was jelly like and yucky lol.
as my floating plants been growing well I cut that bit off and binned it lol
But on the down side my male dwarf gourami was found dead today when the lights went on.
I saw him swimming earlier so dont have a clue what happened to him. He was eating and swimming fine.
Not going to bother with another dwarf gourami they seem to have too many problems

sounds like the dred DG virus susceptibility (did MW put that interesting DG link in a thread earlier this week?)
