What sort of thoughts are you looking for?!
Personally, I think they're lovely fish, but they are messy and are quite chunkily built, so they do need large-ish tanks, and they're not very good at algae eating, so you should never get one as a 'cleaner fish'.

The bigger they get the less algae they clean, but the adults still do some algae control.
Clean: BN are poop machines
Size: i have a male here that is around 15cm (and some girls not that much smaller).
Aggression: Not usually too bad, though ocassionally you can get one that is nasty to their own kind (i had a female that would kill any other BN put into the tank with her lol mean piece of work she was)

I have a BN and he definitely does Algae clean-up. That said he is still young and as Alasse said they tend to eat less as they get bigger. They also need a varied diet (i.e they need to eat more than just algae) so they shouldn't be used exclusively for cleanup. Are you trying to fix an algae problem?
They are a great fish. A lot of fun to watch. But they do poop a LOT so they have a heavy bio load. Min 30g tank. I believe they get to be about 5-6" give or take. Having driftwood for them to graze on is a big plus. Mine is generally peaceful but will defend his algae wafer and chase away anything that comes near it.
And every now and then they may give you a smile
