I've had my male bristlenose pleco for over a year now, probably 2.
He is still hiding and wont become tame.

I was able to tame the goldspot pleco quite quickly... withing a couple of months. (ive had him about 2/3 years)
My goldspot is comes out when I put food in the tank.
Ive seen him out during the day, and stays out past 6pm.
He will stick to my hand, and wont move for quite a while.

But my bistlenose still wont come out at all. He doesn't come out when there's food, (only past 10pm) and he wont come near me.
He doesn't look ill at all. I know they are nocturnal... but during the night, he shoots away when I feed the normal fish (and him).
He always hides in the 'ruins' ornament or behind the heater.
Ive tamed one plec... but the other hates me.
I dont dart around, or make quick movements with my hands, so it's not as if Im scaring him in that sense.

Is there any good ways to tame him?
Are bristlenoses more shy or something?
What foods do they like the most (other than zuccinis/courgettes)?
Any other tips?
Personal experiences with a bristlenose plec?

Anything is good :)

Male
Bristlenose
About 3-4 inches long
20% water changed weekly. with chlorine control.
Lots of room.
Hardly any other fish in the tank (they are perfectly healthy)

BN plecos are more of a nocturnal fish. They don't become tame. They are a dinosaur fish and don't change easily. It is normal for BN plecos to hide . its not being shy its just that they don't like to come out when its light. They like zuchinnis. My BN pleco only likes to come out for food and changes his body pattern from spots to stripes to nothing. They are amazing.
