I've never tries to 'grow' any type of pleco but I am assuming that you mean breeding. Can I grow bristlenose fry in a bucket i have heater and airstone
I have a hob filter and I’m breeding them and growing up the fry I’m going to be using driftwood Indian almond leaves and plants it’s a 5 gallon bucket and breeding bristlenose isn’t that hard I’m doing water change every other day.I've never tries to 'grow' any type of pleco but I am assuming that you mean breeding.
I just don't think it would work well. While adding a heater is fine an air stone is not going to supply any filtration which is needed with plecos as they have a high bio load. As to fry I have no idea but just suspect that what you propose would not be a healthy environment.
If you want to raise fry I would have to assume that you intend to sell. Think about it. Would you want to buy fish raised as you suggest? If you are going to sell the fish need to be raised in a healthy environment. Except for a short time selling fancy guppies I have never bred for sale but I would think that you would need at least three tanks and probably more. I would think that you would need a tank for each mating pair. Then you would need a fry tank. And then you would need a juvenile tank.
In your initial post you said nothing about a HOB filter, just an air stone. Still, what you propose, just strikes me as wrong. What lighting is on this 'bucket'? What plants are in the bucket?I have a hob filter and I’m breeding them and growing up the fry I’m going to be using driftwood Indian almond leaves and plants it’s a 5 gallon bucket and breeding bristlenose isn’t that hard I’m doing water change every other day.
Why is the group always so madIn your initial post you said nothing about a HOB filter, just an air stone. Still, what you propose, just strikes me as wrong. What lighting is on this 'bucket'? What plants are in the bucket?
I'm sorry as the following may easily be taken as insulting but that is not my intent, really isn't. How you have described what you want to do unfortunately reminds me of a small scale version of a fish farm, just doing enough to keep the fish alive until shipped.
Since I've never bred plecos I may be totally off base but I think your stated plan will result in a lot of dead fish being delivered. The fish will just not be healthy enough to survive shipping.
Like I said I've never bred plecos of any kind so others may counter my doubts but I doubt that will happen.
Sorry but I don't understand the question. Why is the group always so mad
