Bristle Nose Sexing

hi there out of curiosity at what age can you sex a bristle nose catfish? i have a full grown about 2 and half year old black female (no bristles)

i recently brought an albino bristlenose which can be no more than 3 months old,so far no bristles so im thinking i have another female but the other day i was in my lfs where i brought the albino from and in the same tank where i got mine from they still have others from the same batch all of which have no bristles.

surely the lfs hasent got a tank full of females?

What size is the albino? you should be able to tell at about 2-3"

i would say the albino is about 2 "

I would say its probably a female then. At that age the males should be starting to get small bristles around there lip.
