I have a 4 inch gold gourami and a 3 inch angelfish in a 30 gallon tank (I'll get a bigger tank when they grow larger). My question is how to get their color's to be more vibrant. At the moment, the gold gourami is a pale white-ish yellow color and the angelfish is plain white with some small black stripes. How do you get them to be more vibrant (especially for the gold gourami)?

There are quite a few different reasons why this could be.
Fish tend to blend into the substrate/background. If its white or pale then the colours will not stand out.
What size is the angel? Its better to get a bigger tank ASAP as stunting can happen without you even being aware of it. Its not really visible until its done.
What other fish do you have in your tank?

i have a gold gourami and shes a really orangey yellow colour with great petterning i keep her in a large community tank with some blue guoramis i think theres 1 male and the other 3 are all female. after i added the male the colours seemed to get a bit brighter. certain types of food are suppose to help aswell. i feed mine frozen bloodworm once a week (they love it)

Oh that makes sense. My substrate's pure white sand and if they were trying to blend into the substrate then it's no wonder why they're so pale. Angelfish is is only 3 inches tall. I am going to get a larger tank very soon. Thanks!

Really? Cool. Maybe she was showing off. :hyper: I feed them bloodworms too once a week but it didn't work.

Feeding a good varied diet will help. also weekly water changes with the replacement water being slightly cooler will bring them into breeding mode which will intensify colours.
