I have no experience with them but would think the light doesn't matter but they probably would preffer lower levels of light to bring out color and a large water change and increase in water temp. should get them breeding. They also probably need coditioning with live foods. As I said, this is just an educated guess. I'd do a google search on them to see what articles you can find on breeding them and their requirements.
