My fiance and I were at our LPS today looking for some Blue or Bolivian Rams, and we came across some really pretty, bright blue cichlids in a tank with some Yellow Labs. They were marked as "Blue Acara," but I just looked up Blue Acara and they looked nothing like those. Anyone know what they could be?

malawi is real harlequins when it comes to color I have mbunas that change from dark blue/black to white all in a mater of seconds all dependant on who's on their tale at the time.

The actual shape and then the markings is needed to id a fish.

What kind of blue? Lighter powder like Socolofi? Striped like young Lombardoi? If the LFS knew what they were doing in any way they would have been some other type of mbuna.

if they where marked as a blue acara and sold as a african....now thats bad

i thought my lfs was bad

I think it may be the Socolofi. I'll try to go and have a look again today. This is the same shop that sold me a "Synodontis ERUPTIS" and made me look stupid for using the name that he said. hah Ah well. I'll try to inform him otherwise.
