Does anyone have an opinion on the Brichardi Cichlid? I just got one and am not sure what to expect. I just have a small Brichardi and a small Red Zebra in my tank right now. From what I've read, I'll need to be careful once he starts to mature, but in the mean time, I was hoping to get an opinion from someone who has or had one.

Thanks!

Not an ideal mix at all. Although both from the high alkaline lakes of Africa, their habitats and bahaviour are very different.

I have 1 in with my tangys and it causes no problems at all

Well, for now I'm going to keep them. If they begin to show signs of aggression, I can probably take the zebra back or give him to a friend. Would the Brichardi interact well with a Green Terror? If not, what would be a good combo? I know the Brichardi is generally peaceful with non-cichlids from what I've read, as long as you only have one in the community, but I'd rather just keep him and another Cichlid.

Another question, What should I be trying to maintain the Ph at? It's around the 7.2-.6 range right now.

Update: The two are behaving quite well right now. I haven't seen either as active as they have been this evening. I think this may be partially attributable to adding aquarium salt, but at this point I'll take what I can get.
