Hello, I have a 2 and a half inch male and a 2 inch female and the male keeps making the female hid behind the filter. The tank is a 20 gallon flat hex. And I have at least 2 good hidding places. All help much eppreciated(spelled wrong) :good:

20 gallons kind a small. I had a pair of N. Helianthus (cousins to N. Brichardi) and the male kept her in the "pit". After a while there was free swimming fry so I figured it's the way the male keeps her home to watch the babies. Wouldn't want his babies mother to be out and about so he kept her at home.

Now are you sure the "female" is actually a female? Without seeing them myself I could pose it's more of a nice "Prison Love" situation :hey: .

I am pretty sure it is a female but it is smaller the the male which is very beatiful whith a black bar on the gill plate, (which my "female" doesn't have and my "female" looks anareixic).I will get some pics but I dont know how to post them on here, could you tell me how?
