I took people's advice and moved my male to a seperate 3 gallon tank,
he seems a lot better now, happier and stuff,.... but I always wanted to breed betta's, I have the female in the tank upstairs, and he's down in my room,
how do I "condition" them and stuff? could someone please help me?

do you know how expensive and time consuming it is. you need a breeding tank 10g you need a 30g min to raise the fry in and they can have 100 fry then if half of them turn out to be male you need 50 2liter tubes on a heat mat doing 50% water changes on all of them every day.

I replied on your other thread hon, unless you have a lot of money and spare time it wouldnt be feasible breeding, it isnt the same as livebearers at all as it wouldnt be survival of the fittest simply because all the males need to be separated early on and the work involved should mean a very good proportion survive. Most people heat a room instead of individually as it wouldnt be feasible to heat all individually.

Hmm, ok, so keep him in the 3 gallon by himself? He seems to like it a lot better anyways...
