what are the easiest fish to breed... and what to look for in breeding pairs and any other info

thanks

Livebearers...any of the common ones. Here's a good chart for sexing:

You'll want at least 2 (preferably more) females per male.

Here's a link to tons of livebearer info:

Guppies..
they are livebearer which have live birth.
you would want 2 females and 1 male
you would want a well swimming female with good colours..
in a male you would want a good colouration and good swimming.
and check for disease in the fish i.e. fungus, red marks..

would any of these fish breed in a comunity tank

and how old do the fish have to be before they breed

guppys, platys, swordtails and mollies - yes they will breed in a community tank, provide plenty of cover for a higher fry survival rate. They can breed at very young ages, different species vary slightly but generally its about 2 months old - mature fish will have larger broods.

excellant... one more question from my mate Tom.. hes wonderin if there are any places that buy fish from you and how much can you expect to get for them...

thanks

You won't make money breeding anything easy, and anything rare you'll struggle to breed.

Most local fish shops will accept full grown fish for credit there, but not much. If you're looking to make money breeding you need to either be very good at it or doing it on a massive scale.

i dnot think he wants to make money but i think he realy wants to breed his own fish but hasent got the place for them..

how much can he expect to make on a livebearer how much for something harder

Perhaps you should ask around at the local fish stores to see if they will buy your fish before you get into breeding them. Some stores won't take in fish from local breeders, some will buy them at a pretty low cost, some will give you credit for them, and some will take them off of your hands if you just want to give them away. If they will take them, they typically want them to be at least an inch long, so make sure you have plenty of room to grow them out before you decide to get into it.

il tell him to ask around where he lives as hes about 40 miles from me.. so its easier for him if he can find a place closer to him.. and how much room would he need,

I'd allow for 20-30 gallons at least to grow them out but some people get away with doing smaller grow-out tanks. The larger the tank, the faster they'll grow, and the sooner you can sell them.

ok great thanks for your help...

what fish sell well and at a good price
