Breeding?

I was wondering if this was a sign of breeding, i have 2 salvinis and 2 firemouths. 2 days ago 1 of the salvinis started cleaning a piece of slate by moving stones off it and rubbing up and down on it.. It's been trying to put something on there but everytime it goes to, the smaller firemouth chases it and pushes it! Is the salvini trying to lay eggs?

Might be worth splitting the species if they are preventing each other from breeding
