Hi im thinking of breeding, but im unsure of how to cull the offspring as i dont want 300+ babies...
is there any way round this, as i dont want to be killing like 250 babies, id feel so harsh, its just i dont have enought room to keep 300..
any ideas would be great, as id like to look into getting a pair for breeding..
thanks for your time,
mikey

take out some of the eggs not techniccally culling just reduceing the rate

see woldnt mind doing that but, what if in the eggs you took out, are some awsome bettas??...

its the risk you take besides until they hatch they are not bettas

Ok ill think about it...
whats the average survival rate???

you can tell by the colour of the eggs i think ive never actually bred yet im currently looking at breeding stock

Let the male betta do the culling, leave him in the tank for a week or more and he will sort things out for you.

Also, leaving the male in, he will weed out the weaker ones and the stronger ones will be able to fight for theirselves. Leaving you nice strong fish. But as i say to everyone, READ, READ, READ about breeding bettas. Since the 5-6 months ive been here; at the beginning id see the odd spawn diary but most where showing off pets. Now i mostly see... Spawn Diary, I Have Eggs!, Fry Are Ready!, Breeding Attempt. Then everyone wonders where it goes wrong. Even i made this mistake at first. READ READ READ!!!
