Here's my way of breeding ... Considering both pairs are conditioned and been seeing each other for few days and showing interests.

I'll put the male first in a tub with 3 inches of water and a plant.

After few minutes or so, I'll place the female.

The male will then chase the female.

I'll put a cover on the tub and put the tub in a dark quiet place and leave them for 2- 3 days. The next thing I know is they already have eggs.

Fantastic. :good: I'll have to try that if my current spawning plan doesn't work.

do you lose alot of fish this way?

i mean leaving them unsupravised. ive tryed this way before and it worked perfect. but i was worried about the female the whole time! i will probably use it on my next spawn but i dont know.

 you make it look so easy! Dont the mummy get chewed up though? I wouldnt like that

nope sometimes the mom doesn't get even a scratch :D

byy the way, forgot to mention this in first post, how do you manage to get your female to have eggs? Just being in sight of the male or what?

just a uick question.
where do you guys put all of your babbies. in containers or a tank together?
i thaught that the male would chase the female away after there :hey: time together.
i thaught he kept pursuing her until she swam away.
i also thaught the male (after the eggs have hatched) sometimes mistaked the babbies as food or not realizing they are his kids.
this is what ive heard im not sure if its true.
what do you think.

ohh and by the way cracker is a legend..

I transfer the babies into a larger tank or a pond after 10 days. Yes the male will chase the female but in a smaller tub like this the female doesn't have the time to swim away and she has no choice but to mate lol

Some males tend to eat the fry especially the first time breeder but some males can be kept with the fry for few weeks or so and the male takes care of the babies.

Cute bettas  What would you suggest for an insanely aggressive male? My favourite greeny SD much prefers the whole 'lets chase the pretty girl around and bite her until she's too tired and beat up to even think of any action' thing...

Great Info And Advice Cracker, Thanks :D

Thanks a lot :D

This tub method is very good for aggressive male :D or if your spawning them in a bigger tank then you should make the introduction/courtship longer .... I was telling synnir that I had spawned a pair and I only released the female after 2 weeks and there was no beating whatsoever :D
