I was just wondering if guppies will still breed in a community tank if it is fairly populated and contains bigger fish ie. bala sharks. I got a group of guppies 2 males and 3 females and they are doing fine but the males have not approached the females and tried to transfer sperm yet. Is there a possibility that they don't feel comfortable enough to mate in my tank? its a 55 gallon completely planted tank with tetras and small gold barbs (they arn't being aggressive) and cory cats and such.

has anyone had problems like this? I have another trio that I took out of this tank and put into a 10 gallon to see if that will spark something.

ideas?

this is what the tank looks like if you're wondering Youtube of my tank

would advise your female to male guppy ratio being 3:1 or in your case get 3more females to make it 6:2. But to answer your question, chances are your female guppies are already pregnant so I wouldn't worry.

at least a few fry will survive but not many and like jackyb07s4 said there probly alredy pregnant and u dont know what happence when your out the room or at night to he might be but u just dont see it
